What Are Review Templates and Why Do You Need Them?

We’re in a digital age now.  The internet has blown up. Social media has blown up. Online Ordering has blown up. There is a long list that could be continued with, but I think you get the idea.

Did you know that about 90% of customers check the online review rection before they make a purchase?  Of the 90%, 68% of consumers find reviews to be moderate to extremely useful.  They use them when they are considering their purchase.  Finally, of the 90%, 42% of those who were surveyed said that they would trust the words of a review just as much as they would trust a personal recommendation.  The process to get a lot of reviews can seem like a lot at first, but don’t worry, there are ways to make it easier.  One of them involves review templates, which we will be talking about today.

When you will need review templates

There are times when you should reach out to your customer and ask them for a review, and there are times you shouldn’t.

One of the times where you should leave a review is, of course, right when you get a sale.  If they have to ship it, ask them to review the shopping process and use that information to see what can be improved about the website.  Then, give it some time in order for the product to get to them, and finally, ask them for a review.

Another time to do it would be if the customer has a repeat purchase.  This suggests that they do like the product, and if they do leave you a review, it will be good one.  When you create your review templates, be sure to keep this one different from the previous.  Though it is widely assumed that companies use templates for their emails, customers do like to feel like they matter and getting the same email when they’ve stepped up their game and purchased from you twice would discourage that.  Have a special one for them when they buy the same product twice or more.

Another time to ask for a review is when you notice certain customers have a high level of engagement on your site.  If you notice them browsing your site often, or if they’ve looked at the same product a few times you can send them a request to review the website, a request to review the item (if they do purchase it or have purchased it in the past), or even send a list of items you think they’ll like that will correspond to what they’ve been looking at.  Most of the data for this can be found in your states.  Have a separate template for each of these, and you will score a lot more people.

Finally, a really great time to leave a review would be an anniversary.  If it’s the anniversary of when your customer joined your service, let them know.  Show that you are excited that they’ve been with you for however many years they have and show them some highlights that they’ve purchased and ask for a review.

Reviews can be done many different ways, from asking face to face to sending an email.  Each of these ways has their own strengths.  Using them separately will get you somewhere, but together they are an unstoppable force.
